This book is written in an entertaining story style that teaches you the concepts far more effectively than other books that may give you a bulleted list of things to do to be successful in sales. I am using this in a college sales course to teach multiple concepts and feel that anyone could benefit from reading this book
A quick read as a story of Mr Schmooze and how he works with businesses to improve sales. Mr Shmooze mentors AKA "kid" as he travels with him and experiences How Mr Schmooze helps others prosper through relationships and correct business decisions. One chapter describes having realistic expectations of your sales numbers if you are that entrepreneur in charge of a sales team. Mr Shmooze is a good read with some new ideas about service at a higher level. It also cover some basic ideas that most entrepreneurs may know but might want to teach or use the refreshing ideas for their sales team to apply.

We all know a Mr Shmooze, he's that guy! A great read for any salesmen.It's a narrative of a summer intern who gets to watch the master Mr. Shmooze at work. Throughtout the summer Mr. S teaches him everything you need to know.
I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend, so I didn't even check the reviews first.The other 1-star reviews get it exactly right - Mr. Schmooze comes off as a world-class jerk, and maybe his act works in Atlanta (where is is supposedly from) but it would get him laughed out of the room here in the northeast. All back-slapping and glad-handing and giving a professional female colleague Lancome face cream that his wife (supposedly) picked out for her. Sheesh! Mr. Smooze comes across as the creepy guy you can see coming ... and, if at all possible, you try not to have to deal with him.(I keep saying *supposedly* because it quickly becomes apparent reading this book that probably none of these parable-stories bear any relationship to the actual truth. It's all made up - you can just smell it!)As for the golf outing arranged for a client's son - I was cringing the whole way through, to think that the client was being presented as a man who would ever let his own son be used as that kind of pawn. Hard to believe.A dreadful book with no redeeming features. Mr. Schmooze MUST be the one who gave schmoozing SUCH a bad name! I wish I could get my $$$ back!
We use this a lot at my company (I run the training department). I nice story, easy read, but really re-enforces the importance of relationship building and simple ways to do that. Common sense stuff but things we often forget in our rush to do deals or just the rush of daily life. People seem to like it since it is in story format and not a laborious textbook read.
My customer recommend this book and I found the story interesting and useful. I will apply some of these ideas in my business.
