DIAN GRIESEL, Ph.D., 50, is a serial entrepreneur and long recognized health spokesperson. Dian lectures and writes on a variety of subjects. She is a lifetime member of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists as well as the National Guild of Hypnotists. She has served on the Board of the New York Chapter of the American Heart Association. Dian has appeared in thousands of media outlets and in the early 1990s was a regular health expert on the Sally Jessy Raphael Show, Gordon Elliot, Jenny Jones, Montel Williams, Rolanda Watts, Good Day New York and 1010 WINS News. She has worked in private practice and taught continuing education for weight loss and stress management at the NY Open Center and the City University of NY. In the 1980s, Dian was co-partner at Spotlite Marketing, a division of Spotlite Entertainment, where she worked on sponsorship deals for Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, and other top tier acts. Today Dian lives in Connecticut, with her husband and their two young children. TOM GRIESEL, 56, is the older brother of Dian and a true Renaissance man. Holy smokes, Batman! I can't believe that I can lose weight this quickly and reach optimal health so fast--and with no hunger pangs or moodiness. Like the Griesel's say, you won't be hungry and you really aren't! I made it through day 1 and 2, taking naps and going to bed early to ward off opportunities to falter. By day 3, my appetite for certain things was gone and I was surprised by the wellspring of self-control and patience I was tapping into. I read the book in one sitting and determined to start right then and there.I am almost 10 days on the Super Freaking Highway and I have lost over 15lbs of body fat. Previously, I was working out hard core (and actually loving it!) doing 1 hour Spin classes 3-4x's a week, as well as 1 hour Group Power (weight lifting) classes 3x's a week, walking everywhere, racking up steps on my Fitbit, managing and running our household of 6 people, following the food pyramid, eating mostly "clean"...but "spinning my wheels" with not losing fat. Not for lack of trying or education; I was not able to lose because I was trapped in a system designed for failure. This book presented info completely backwards to everything I have ever read or followed before...BUT IT IS PHENOMENAL!!This is not a complicated process at all. You just have to change your mind. It's so elementary and easy that it might be hard to wrap your mind around at times. I tabbed my book so I could reference it throughout the day when I had trouble getting my mind to cooperate, as well as for easy referencing.I had almost resigned myself to thinking that I would never get below a certain weight, but I believe it's possible now with this process. I can't wait to see what my blood word comes back like--mine #'s have always been pretty good, but we'll see if I have done better there, as well. I have a steady stream of constant energy that helps me to home educate our 4 kiddos. They are trying to keep up with me now!Short and Sweet: Get it. Read it. Do it.

I really like the way the book is written. It is easy to read, gets to the point, offers testimonials from successful Turbo Chargers and is very encouraging, "Just give us 10 days". I have to admit that I have had a hard time following it for longer than 3 days. However, on those 3 days I feel great.Like the current trend of nutrition books, it emphasizes the dangers of sugar and grains in our diet. The rest of the book goes into a different direction. They offer 8 steps to follow in order to reach your goals.#1 Forget what you've been told about dieting. Their dietary and exercise recommendations are very different from the norm.#2 Measure REAL success. They recommend purchasing a body fat scale which I agree is essential if you are trying to gauge your "fat loss".#3 The fat burning elixir. Can you say 16 cups of water a day!#4 Fresh breath never tasted so good. They recommend brushing your teeth when hungry or after a meal to curb the overeating. I told one of my friends about that and she lamented that she loved nothing more than to continue to enjoy the flavor of her last meal once it was over. I have been known to keep eating chocolate kisses just to keep the flavor going, so this is a wise suggestion.#5 TurboCharge your fat-burning metabolism with activity. Walk more to maintain your activity level throughout the day. No hour long exercise sessions while limiting your food intake. This is refreshing! I have tried other low calorie diets with huge workouts and does that make me cranky, starving and desperate when my blood sugar drops.#6 Muscle power in 5 minutes a day. The idea of exercising in short bursts throughout the day is ingenious. The days I do it, I feel invigorated. Sometimes while at work, I don't feel comfortable to jump up from my seat and start doing squats. I should just go to the restroom, lock the door and knock it out. I am drinking enough water that trust me, I am in there anyway.#7 Eating to TurboCharge. The idea of food separation I have only read about before in Suzanne Somers' old books. I have to admit my stomach does feel better when I don't combine certain food groups like grains and meats. Eating that way is a challenge when going out. It is hard to be at someone's home and limit yourself to vegetables or meat and no carbs. My friends are amazing cooks and I want a bite of everything!They also recommend in the beginning of the day to limit your food intake to fruit or a protein smoothie with fruit. I suffer from low blood sugar and I was surprisingly okay doing this. I do start the day with a protein drink and then pack a bunch of fruit to munch on. They recommend a vegetable meal and then a protein meal for dinner. Nothing but fruit, if hungry, after 8 pm. With all of the water you are drinking, your hunger does get reduced. I do have a hard time after a long day at work coming home and calmly preparing my dinner while trying to rein the kids in for their dinner. This is one of my bigger challenges.#8 Seeing the prize. Visualization is the step that is supposed to keep you going. They recommend cutting your face out and pasting it on the body you want to have. Maybe that would help me to stay on this diet. I have a hard time believing that my body will let go of the extra 10 pounds I am carrying.In summary, this diet makes it's own sense. You will feel good following it. The exercises they outline are simple to do anywhere. The food recommendations are simple too. Depending upon how social you are, eating this way can be a challenge, but that is the nature of dieting to lose weight anyway. I have been implementing the steps sporadically, but I really hope to give myself the 10 days they ask for to make a big change in my body composition. July 1st looks promising.

I was very, very skeptical at first. I have tried many other programs through my life, and have never been given so much motivation. Tom and Dian have this program down perfectly. It is super easy to follow, and you see the results very quickly. In just 3 weeks I have lost 15lbs and 15% body fat. I feel great. This book is written in a way that is easy for anyone to read. It teaches you concepts that are easy to follow, and backed by research! If you are looking for something to help you find success, stop here. You have found it! 1 month I lost 15 pounds & hadn't even adapted to the food plan yet. I have strictly drank water as instructed in the book which made it easy to cut back on food because I wasn't hungry nor did I have the desire to eat. Junk food & candy cravings diminished! I have not done ANY exercise but have tried to incorporate some more activity like parking farther away from the store etc. So far this has been the easiest I have ever lost weight & being in my 40's nothing is easy! Energy level is great, feel good. It is hard to believe some of the claims that you can survive on such few calories & it is very difficult to give up grains & dairy but even loosely following this plan WORKS! Try it ...you wont be disappointed.
